Not unlike other areas in the northeast quadrant of the Salt Lake Valley, Foothill and Oak Hills are general descriptions of a series of smaller neighborhoods. St Mary's, Oak Hills, Indian Hills, Arcadia Heights, Spyglass Hill, and Benchmark are all "microhoods" surrounding the Foothill Village commercial area and the Bonneville Golf Course. Some affectionally call its residents "Village People." This sought-after neighborhood is bordered on the north by the Hogle Zoo, This Is the Place Monument, and Red Butte Gardens with Interstate 80 to the south.
The neighborhoods of Foothill and Oak Hills offer a five minute commute to the University of Utah, local neighborhood restaurants and shopping, nearby freeway access, and superb views over the valley to the Great Salt Lake and the Oquirrh Mountains. Larger homes and lots are found on the east side of Foothill Boulevard.
